    I am Martin Crowson and became interested in Empower Montgomery after reading a June 27 “Washington Post” article about Montgomery County’s lagging economic development. I am active in Montgomery Municipal Cable TV and Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE), in which I mentor start up businesses and nonprofits. As an Empower Montgomery volunteer, I hope to contribute in its research and civic engagement initiatives.

    Gas Tax. Pay to drive. Public transportation fares increase regularly—why not gas tax? Regressive?
